As noted in the Groupe Intellex blog, the short-listed entries for this year's Next Generation Digital Challenge awards are now in the hands of the judging panel.
We do not envy their task. With a record number of entries we ended up with more Awards Categories with more Finalists in each - creating in turn a need for an expanded panel of judges and careful load-sharing of the entries between them.
Finalists in each of the six Awards Categories are asessed seperately taking into account the diversity of the challenges they faced, the ingenuity shown in finding solutions and the extent of their achievements. Hopefully when all the score-sheets are returned we will be able to identify clear winner for each category.
The Finalists are, of course, already winners having been selected from a huge entry field. The response this year says a lot about the sources of economic growth even if, as some would suggest, the way that national performance measures are currently constructed does not adequately reflect the new types of economic activity.
The final outcomes of this year's Digital Challenge will not be declared until October 14th but it is heartening to know that we have already been asked for the details of the 2014 round. We've promised to make an announcement about 2014 in November and will be setting out an outline plan for new categories following discussions with potential sponsors during the Awards Ceremony.
Meanwhile we are leaving no stone unturned in our push for recognition of these Finalist achievements - they have all been invited to present their case-studies at the NextGen 13 conference at Wembley and the exhibition area will feature their final submissions.
The Next Generation Digital Challenge Awards programme is a joint venture between Groupe Intellex and NG Events Ltd.
